TONIGHT

Words and music by Jim Ashwill and Winston Apple

I'm coming to you tonight
There's a full moon rising
Some bad cats gonna be prowling tonight
Cruising up and down Slohan Avenue
Looking for the girl in white
She pulls up at the light
Staring trouble in the eye
She's ready to run tonight

Oh, I know a young girl's dreams can bring her down
When they go wrong
And I think she knows
She's been a mystery dancer a little too long
When Davy takes her in his arms,
she feels so safe and warm
He's coming to her tonight
He says, "You're not gonna be lonely anymore
You're not gonna be lonely anymore
I'm coming to you tonight"

Well, they set her up, they're gonna run her down
They run the numbers, they run this town
They're ready to explode
Loaded with money, guns, and knives
Oh, but she's seen the light burning in Davy's eyes
He's coming to her tonight
He says, "You're not gonna be lonely.."

Sirens screaming in the night
None of `em are really coming
They just run from accident to accident
Until they give up and just stop running
That's when the sparks start flying
They're gonna be flying tonight
Yeah, we're gonna be squeezing out a few
On the avenue.tonight

You've got to show a little faith
Got to really believe if you wanna survive
When you're born to lose, if you wanna win
You've gotta lay it all on the line tonight

Davy lies broken and bleeding
Pleading for a chance to say goodbye
She rushes to his side, takes him in her arms
She looks into his eyes
Then she whispers in his ear
As she reaches for the knife,
I'm coming to you tonight
She says "You're not gonna be lonely anymore..
Here comes love to the rescue..
..I'm coming to you tonight!
